Leave a Review for: Bookstore Movers

"I have always hated and dreaded moving. Partially because the pain that packing is, partially because I don't deal with change very well emotionally....but very much also because of the big wildcard and frequent poor service of moving companies. In the past I've had some competent moving experiences, and some that were disastrous. Bookstore Movers were the first time I hired a moving company and really came away from the transaction feeling that not only was I efficiently and inexpensively helped, but that they really went above and beyond. I believe economists call this "consumer surplus". In my transactions with Bookstore Movers I had oodles of consumer surplus! My specific experience was that I submitted a quote on their website, and they responded back within 4 minutes. Which is an incredible response time, especially considering it was 9pm on a Saturday. I guess Matt, the owner, is a workaholic dork like me! Then via email, Matt and Kristen walked me through the process, and answered important questions I had not even thought to ask. This information and guidance really made everything go smoother. As they drill into you in their emails and website, preparation is super-important! On moving day, the crew, Craig and Peter, arrived a few minutes early and went straight to work. They never really even paused for the 3 straight hours that the move took, and certainly never complained. All I heard was a few questions on whether the content of boxes was fragile, a few questions on where to put stuff, and a few puns. They were very efficient workers and very fast, and the 3 hrs it took was almost half the time of past movers (and I have MORE stuff). When it came time to pay the bill, true to their word, there were no surprise fees. Just the hourly rate times 3. Very straight forward. I did, however, give them big tips, but they earned every penny of that. Still plenty of consumer surplus leftover for me!"
