"quick to finish, best product, don't give you that crazy pressure tactic others do to finalize a sale. they call you incessantly afterwards, though, trying to get you to do other things with their company."

"Long Fence and Home did a 5 window replacement. I called for the service once and they were there immediately to do an estimate. Windows work and look great. I am very pleased with Long's service. "

"My thumbs down is a reflection of the way this deal was handled, not of Long Fence and Home per se. I feel the Service Alley deal was very misleading. LF&H has good products, and the sales pitch was relatively low-key, but the cost was unexpected. The deal was $250 for $1250 toward 2 doors (or 1 door and 2 windows). That gave me the impression that the $1250 would come close to covering the cost of the first door. Boy, was I wrong! The cheapest front door was over $4000. We went through with the order, but are in the process of cancelling it because of the cost. I say "in the process" because after we submitted the cancellation notice (on time, within the 3-day limit) we got a call to set up an appointment with a manager to come and discuss our cancellation. I tried to get the customer service rep to commit to refund our deposit right away, but he kept saying he had to follow "the process" which includes the manager's visit. We should not have to listen to another sales pitch to cancel our order. This is a follow-up to my review of 13 days ago: I'm pleased to report that Long Fence and Home processed the cancellation of our order as requested, and Service Alley refunded us for the coupon that we ended up not using because of the cancellation. Both companies seemed to be genuinely concerned about our problem and kept in touch with us until it was resolved. Thank you!"

"Great service and great company. My husband and I purchased Attic mirror and Insulation in order to get ready for the winter. The sales person was very helpful and told us about different deals the company was offering. The price was very reasonable and installation only took one day. The installation crew left zero mess and kept us update the whole time on when they would be finished. I would highly recommend Long Fence and Home to anyone."

"I've used Long Fence and Home four times. I had sliding glass doors installed after a break-in. I was so happy with them that I Long Home and Fence is the first call I make when I need to update my home. Since 2007 I've replaced windows, siding, and doors. Just as they have advertised, my 37 year old house is by far warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The installers are professional and they know their jobs. They come when they say they will, they work hard and they leave the job site clean. They are expensive but they are worth it!"

"I agree with reviewer Betty F. Our disappointment is two fold, first, with this Service Alley deal, for offering such a miniscule deal, we ended up paying $250 we will not get back for listening to a sales pitch where BOTH spouses have to be there, and ultimately we did not buy anything, as the cost of 2 new doors was so overwhelming, it makes the spend $250 for a $1250 discount voucher (buy 2 doors or a door and 2 windows) a drop in the pan. With existing customer and cash discounts, the estimated cost of a basic front door and storm door WITH the voucher came to about $4000. We already have had Long Fence build a deck and fence for us, and those were good experiences, so we are existing customers, yet my husband and I both had to take time off from going to work to be present for what amounted to a sales pitch for one brand of very expensive doors. We had to listen to silly details like the doors are made in Ohio by "civilians, Mennonites, and Amish" which is pretty much like the ads about home space heaters you see in the Sunday Newspaper Magazines. The salesman was polite, and professional, and prompt so this review is not on him as he was doing his job, but this is a "tin man" sales tactic on the part of Long Fence. I do not wish to receive service alley ads or emails any more. Is there any way to get a refund of the $250 we spent to buy the voucher? Whom do we call? Thank you. UPDATE: I did find Katie's number at Long Fence in another review below who had mentioned a refund and called her, and she is kindly working on a refund, which makes us feel better at least about not losing the 250$ on this and about Long Fence trying to keep their customers happy, we will update this when we do actually receive our refund. UPDATE 2: I did also receive an email this evening from Service Alley stating they had processed my refund and to watch for it, I am glad to learn there is a refund option, this was not stated in the sales pitch or the coupon. It seems knowing that up front would make this less of a gamble and people would respond more positively to the deals. I thank Katie at Long, and the anonymous Service Alley representative for their prompt and professional assistance to make this right."

"Salesman knew his stuff, the workmen did quality work. However, there was definitely a notable gap between what was agreed to when the salesman was at the house and what the workmen did when they arrived. Materials on the contract turned out to be insufficient (though they threw in the needed extra free of charge), and several things outlined on the contract were not initially done. Fortunately, I was familiar with the type of work and knew what to look for, and made sure it got completed right. Others may not be so fortunate and could get taken for a not so insignificant amount of money."
