"Merrifield Paint and Design painted four large rooms, three bathrooms and a hallway in my townhouse before I moved in. Jeff (the owner) met me at the house to provide an estimate. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. He seemed interested in helping us get the best outcome, and he didn't try to overcharge us or create more work than needed to be done. For example, he saved us money by matching existing paint in several rooms. The living room had one wall that needed to be repainted, and he was able to match the paint color to the other walls and just paint the one wall, rather than the entire room. I gave him a deadline by when the work needed to be done, and he finished days ahead of the deadline. I have worked with other painters in the past who were always behind schedule and left a mess. Jeff's team was was very careful, quiet, efficient and tidy. We are thrilled with the result. "

"Jeff and his crew painted the living room, kitchen, hallway, nursery, and master bedroom of our new home. Since I am due to have a baby this month, my husband and I had some specific requirements -- e.g., low VOC paint and a relatively quick turnaround. Jeff met and exceeded our expectations. (1) Estimate -- Jeff's estimate was fair and delivered promptly in PDF format via e-mail, which I appreciated. (2) Materials -- Since I am pregnant, Jeff did a little digging to find the best quality low/zero VOC paint available that worked with my husband and I's budget -- we definitely appreciated this extra effort. Just one day after painting, there was virtually no paint odor at all -- it was pretty amazing. (3) Service -- Any time an issue arose in the paint job, Jeff called me right away to confirm next steps -- I really appreciated his attention to detail and clear desire to meet expectations. (4) Quality of Work -- Excellent. Even in parts of our home where the moldings are not quite even, the paint job is perfect. (5) Follow Up -- Jeff offered to perform small follow-up touch-ups, as well, just in case I found that the crew "missed a spot". Overall, my husband and I were very pleased with the high level of service and quality of the work and would definitely call upon Jeff and his team again in the future. "

"Scope of Work: Painting walls, ceilings and trim of three-level townhouse in preparation for renting; also some minor outdoor touch-ups. After three bad experiences with local painters, we finally had a good one with Merrifield Paint & Design. The first thing we noticed was the immediate and personal response from the owner, Jeff. He made time within the first day to check out the property and give us an estimate. He knew that the property was going to be re-rented, so he made some suggestions that would save a few bucks here and there. His prices were a bit higher than the other estimates we got, but he was able to commit to our timing. (We were trying to get things turned around on short notice at a particularly busy time for early summer painting.) In the end, however, the price was well worth it. His painters were on time, professional and neat. We had done work refinishing bathrooms and hardwood floors and they were careful not to track any paint or dirt throughout. For a few bucks extra, we ended up very happy with the work. We would definitely hire these guys again. "

"I sent an email to MP&D just after buying the deal but didn't immediately hear back, so I called a few days later to set up my appointment. They promptly called me back and were able to get my job in the following Friday- Which was the day I requested. Jeff, the owner, arrived at the scheduled time (I was 5 minutes late!) and the painters came about 45 minutes later. We walked through the room and job. Jeff then waited for the painters and relayed the plan. It took the painters about 3.5 or 4 hours to complete the job. They moved the furniture to paint, moved it back, and left no mess. The repair they did to one portion of the wall made the screw holes undetectable and the painting was well done. I was very pleased with the results. I would definitely use them again. "

"I bought this as a special deal on Angie's list. I contacted Jeff by email and he made sure that I had purchased sufficient amount of paint and also made sure that I fully understood the conditions of the coupon. Jeff and the team arrived at the agreed-upon time and Jeff took the time to inspect the living room. He also inspected the ceiling paint which was left by the previous owners. The job was done in 4 hours and I have never seen such a clean paint job. All the nail holes in the wall were patched, the wall were perfectly painted and the ceiling was touched-up although they were not required to do so. I can highly recommend this company. "

"This company painted our entire exterior - - brick, siding, shutters, trim, eaves, front door. Merrifield Paint & Design was wonderful! They used the paint I insisted upon without questioning it, suffered through my wishy-washiness on shutter color, and even came back later to finish the wooden storm door painting after I'd had my handyman install it. Their workers were on time and tidy and did a beautiful job. This really transformed my otherwise dull 1964 split level into a standout (in a good way). I'd recommend this company to anyone for their high quality work and outstanding customer service. Their pricing was very reasonable as well."
