"Used them to fix one piece of siding up by the roof that fell as well as one that was dangling. They charge by the hour, but still turn out to be cheaper than couple other siding companies I called. Follow-up: a year and 4+ months later, 2012 derecho hit and one of the siding Mr Handyman nail down came loose again. Called them and they offer to repair for free even it past the 1 year warranty. They came out this morning (July 20th) and used screws this time instead of nails. So their customer service is great!"

"These guys were great! When I needed to have my toilet fixed, they couldn't schedule an appt. immediately, but added me to their waiting list. Lee came out by 4 the next day, diagnosed & fixed my toilet tank problem, and checked out a couple of other things while he was here. I'd definitely call them again!"

"They were great. Jack went right to work. He worked while I made a trip to Home Deport for a part. When I got back, he told me there was another part that was needed. He took himself off the clock and went to Home Depot to get the part himself. He replaced the kitchen faucet and set up the wall mount for my tv. Jack was great."

" I was very pleased with the service and with the price. I was disappointed that when I tried to make an appointment, I was informed that the phone number(Virginia) that was on the coupon could not be recognized in Maryland. I was given a number to speak with the Maryland handyman service, and he was nice enough to recognize the coupon, even though he does not participate in this program. His representative did an excellent job and was very professional. I hope that he will not have a difficult time recuperating his money for this service. I was told that if this company would not agree to provide the service, I could request a refund. I was very disappointed, because this should have been researched in advance. "

Provider's Response

We hope this customer will contact us again at 703-254-1210 in order to correct any confusion regarding her coupon not being honored. Mr. Handyman of Metropolitan Washington has honored every deal and coupon we have offered on Service Alley as long as the customer was within our service area. Additionally we continue to honor them after the expiration date. As a national franchise we are legally forbidden from servicing customers OUTSIDE of our specific service area. Unfortunately some customers purchase deals without being aware of our service area. It then becomes up to each individual franchise if they choose to honor our coupons. That is what occurred in this instance. This customer was outside of our service area and a different franchise called Mr. Handyman of Fairfax and Eastern Loudoun County chose not to honor the deal or coupon that we offered. However, we have received permission from that franchise to service this particular customer if she is willing to get back in touch with our office to schedule the appointment. We can be reached at 703-254-1210. If the coupon or deal has expired we will still honor it. I hope Margaret will contact us so that we may explain the situation and perform the needed service.
