Hot Weather is Brutal on Your Home

Someone flipped the switch and the summer season is underway in the DC and Baltimore metro areas. Time to apply your sunscreen and get out your water bottle and backyard hose. And, hey, it’s also time to eat some ice cream!
Hot weather can be fun, but it’s also hard your home. Over time, both hot and cold weather can damage your home’s exterior paint through:
- Peeling
- Blistering
- “Alligatoring” (picture the skin of an alligator – not the best look for a home.)
- Wrinkling
- Chalking (you’ll notice a white film on the surface of the paint.)
- Developing stains and mildew
This time of year, homeowners call us to protect their home’s exterior with fresh, new paints. And, don’t forget, we also offer eco-friendly varieties of paint to protect you and the environment.
Additionally, the warmer weather and moisture can conspire to create stains, dirt and “gunk” on your sidewalks, walkways and exterior walls, so we offer pressure washing to resolve these issues.
We’d also like to mention that the comfort of the residents inside your home is important: new windows and doors can improve your home’s insulation (keeping the cooler air in and the heat out) and revitalize the look of rooms and entryways. Did we mention that we provide this service?
Finally, if you’re spending more time indoors this summer, be sure your rooms and spaces look their best with a fresh coat of paint! We’re ready to assist with brush in hand.
Have you noticed changes to your home’s exterior paint or other areas?
